Driving from North Carolina to Virginia to see my daughter and her family, I always enjoy the view as I head over the mountains. The Piedmont plain below is quite beautiful. I hope this painting on canvas captures some of that beauty. I should note that this painting was also an exercise in which I allowed myself a very limited palette with a focus on a single never before used hue.
