My art reflects the varied paths my life has taken, with each work exploring themes of time, memory, and emotion. I strive to ensure that every piece embodies two essential qualities: spirit and movement.
By spirit, I mean that each work suggests a compelling narrative without revealing it in full. When successful, the piece engages the viewer, inviting personal interpretation and fostering an ongoing, nonverbal dialogue between the work and its audience.
In creating a painting or monotype, I am deeply engaged in the physical process—moving paint or ink across the canvas or plate, pushing and pulling it, selectively removing material, and blending colors so that each interacts harmoniously with those around it. When the process resolves effectively, color appears to float above the underlying forms.
Ultimately, the work becomes alive. Everything is in motion, and within that motion, possibility emerges.
