This work is an acrylic painting with collage on paperboard.  It grew out of a conversation with my wife that began like this:  “I really had the battle the canvas today.  I mean it was all out war.”  My wife responded:  “So you didn’t enjoy working in the studio today?”  I replied:  “The exact opposite.  It was a war, but it was a lot of fun.”  In making art, I am guided by the notion that each work of art pushes against the void; the empty regions of our existence.
